Here’s what I’m following to keep up with the latest tech. Do you have any additional recommendations? Drop a comment below.
Tech News
Daily Tech News Show – Great for a general tech news overview. I’ve found they always go beyond the headline to understand stories in depth, and offer accurate insights into the future of tech. | PocketCasts | website
AI
The Open AI Podcast – This is a newer podcast. It’s useful to have direct insight into the future of ChatGPT as well as advice on using it better. And for a corporate podcast, they’re reasonably open and honest. | PocketCasts | website
The Attention Mechanism – Good at taking a few bigger AI stories and diving deeper into them with AI insider knowledge – the host is a former OpenAI employee, and hosts their official podcast as well. | PocketCasts | website
AI for Humans – Great for following the week-by-week change in the best AI models and new tools. I do think they’re overly optimistic about AI capabilities, and their humor isn’t always a hit, but they do a good job of making the show enjoyable and covering AI news across the board. | PocketCasts | website
Self-Hosting
2025 was not kind to self-hosting podcasts. The two I followed both ended, which led me to look for alternatives. One other one I found ended last year (The HomeLab Show). There is a new podcast that just launched (PocketCasts), but it’s too early to have much of a review there. Hopefully someone fills this gap soon!
This Week In Self-Hosted – This short-lived podcast started with interviews with popular self-hosting developers, and later served as an audio version of the popular Self-Host Weekly newsletter. Although new episodes haven’t dropped in a few months, links are still up and I’m holding out hope it comes back, especially with the discontinuation of the next podcast. | PocketCasts | website
Self-Hosted – After being a core podcast in the space for 6 years, this show ended earlier this year. They have promised occasional self-hosting coverage on another show in their network, Linux Unplugged. | PocketCasts | website
Security
CISO Series – I don’t listen to every episode, but this network has a number of great security podcasts. Several of them involve thought-provoking and fun games in every episode, and the production quality is very high across all the podcasts. | PocketCasts | website
Android
Android Faithful – I was a listener back in the old All About Android days (before TWiT dropped them, and they spun off this new podcast on the Daily Tech News Show network). It’s not a regular listen for me, as they go deeper into comparisons of different phones and minor software changes than I’m interested in, but I’ll listen to a few episodes when I’m interested in a new phone or there’s a major Android update. They do have a great depth of Android-related experience and knowledge and it’s always an enjoyable listen. | PocketCasts | website
